Cleaning day isn’t normally when you expect to take some of your favorite boa pictures.
But then you open an enclosure or a rack, look at the animal in front of you and think…
Yeah, I need my phone. 😂
This little one is part of some work we’re doing behind the scenes at ImperatorMorphs, trying to better understand something we’ve been referring to as our “Blue Line.”
I’m deliberately not going to say much more about that yet.
There’s still plenty we want to understand before we start making too many claims about exactly what we’re looking at.
But genetics and projects aside…
Just look at those colors.
If you’re one of those people whose brain immediately gets excited when you see blue, lavender and purple tones in a boa, I’m guessing this picture is doing something for you too. 😂
The really interesting thing is how different these colors can look depending on the light, the angle and even what the animal is sitting on.
And as good as it looks in this picture, this is really one of those animals you need to experience in real life.
The camera captures the blue, lavender and purple tones surprisingly well, but seeing them with your own eyes is something completely different. There’s a depth to the color that a picture just doesn’t quite reproduce.
Sometimes you walk past an enclosure and don’t think twice.
Other times an animal simply makes you stop.
This was definitely one of those times.
So the cleaning could wait another 30 seconds. 😂
Some boas simply demand a picture. 📸🐍
